Now is the time for all of us sitting in our armchairs to support you while you take all the risks and put in all the massive effort required to get to the top.

An update from the team

The Kili-Billies start our climb tomorrow morning.

We are nervous but very excited!

Today we went on a short tour of Moshi with our lead climb guide, Philbert. Our final briefing involved all of us having our pulse rate and oxygen levels checked. We are all fit to climb (at least for the first day).

Our guide explained that we need to each as much as possible for the first few days before the altitude kills our appetites by the end of day 4.

We still haven’t seen the mountain!

It’s been too cloudy. Kandoo will post live updates of the team with photos, follow us at Kandoo adventures FB page

Well the girls have now landed at Kilimanjaro International Airport after 24hours travelling feeling pretty tired and in need of much nourishment. So it was off to where?

The bar where else!! Get the fluid (Wine and Beer) into the system – forget the food lets have some fun!

2. Kilimanjaro has three volcanic cones, Mawenzi, Shira and Kibo. Mawenzi and Shira are extinct but Kibo, the highest peak, is dormant and could erupt again. The most recent activity was about 200 years ago; the last major eruption was 360,000 years ago.
