Meet "The Team" and Their Story
Alex Phillips (More About Alex) Priya Tromans (More About Priya)

Why are you climbing Kilimanjaro?

Why not?! I blame Priya. When I became President of the Worcestershire Law Society I wanted our charity for the year to be a local charity that would give back to our community and would raise funds for something tangible.

Something that people could say, my donation helped to build it.

Why are you climbing Kilimanjaro?

Sharon’s fault! She said that I ought to do something important for my 40th year. She then mentioned climbing Kilimanjaro (“or something like that…”).

Little did she know I would get a group together, an itinerary and request deposits within the next week.

Priya then told me about her conversation with Sharon about climbing Kilimanjaro as a way to raise money and I thought it would be a fantastic way to grasp peoples’ attention and really highlight what we are trying to achieve.

When we met Trudy at Worcestershire Royal Hospital and saw first hand what she and her team are trying to achieve we knew that this would be an amazing way to help. Trust me when I say that that climbing Kilimanjaro is so far out of my comfort zone it is unreal.

So please give generously to this incredible cause.

Once the decision was made to climb, I wanted a charity that was local and something where the sum of our fundraising would make a real difference. I urge you all to read the stories of the parents and midwives on this site.

I would like to look back on this year and be able to say that we did do something really important, that we were able to get enough money together to build a new suite and we genuinely helped families through this traumatic experience. The best thing about having such a great cause is that there is definitely no backing out!

Please give whatever you can afford.
